We visited the British Columbia Parliament building. . .
We learned about the current British Columbia coat of arms. . .
As well as the older version, rejected because it contradicted the statement "The sun never sets over the British empire". . .
There was a lot of stained glass beauty. . .
Afterward we walked by the Empress hotel. . .
Then we waited in a long standby line and were able to get on the earlier ferry back to Port Angeles. . .
We hadn't been on board long when the captain announced a whale sighting. See the little grey fin on the left side of the water? . . .
The owner of that fin delighted everyone by jumping out of the water. There was a unanimous "Woooow!" But our boat had to keep moving. . .
I knitted. . .
The water undulated. . .
The wind blew. . .
Land appeared. . .
And I am glad to be back in the US! ~Megan
